Tanggol Kalikasan (Defense of Nature) is a non-stock, non-profit and non-governmental
organization doing public interest lawyering in the Philippines. It
has operated as an environmental law office for 17 years already.
Tanggol works with national and international partners and networks
and has its main office in Quezon City. It also maintains
fully-staffed area offices in Alaminos City (Tanggol sa Hilagang
Luzon), Lucena City (Tanggol sa Timog Katagalugan) and Legaspi City
(Tanggol sa Kabikulan)

The organization envisions an empowered society that relates with
its environment in a just and sustainable manner for the equitable
benefit of all Filipinos.

Its mission is to facilitate the empowerment of communities and
institutions to manage their ecosystem through law and other
creative mechanisms.

Conscious of the power of an organized and informed citizenry,
Tanggol’s programs are aimed at encouraging greater citizen’s
participation in environmental law enforcement and policy-making on
