Ordinance No. 7695

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE, TRASH, RUBBISH AND REFUSE IN AN UNCOVERED OR UNSEALED CONTAINER, PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREON, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Section 1. - Any and all persons whether natural or judicial, in the City of Manila are hereby mandated to put their garbage, trash, rubbish, and refuse in a closed or sealed bag, sack or similar and proper disposition thereof.

Section 2. - It shall be unlawful for a person in the City of manila to place outside of his residence or establishment his/her garbage, trash, rubbish, and refuse in an open, uncovered or unsealed container.

Section 3. - It shall be likewise unlawful for any person to open or destroy the aforesaid container for the purpose of scavenging and scattering the contents thereof in getting the said container.

Section 4. - Any violation of this Ordinance shall be punishable with an imprisonment of not more than ten (10) days or a fine of not more than Five Hundred (P500.00) Pesos or both upon the discretion of the court.

Section 5. - The Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.

Enacted by the City Council of Manila at its regular session today, February 7,1989.
